Jewellery, Watches & Silver Head of Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Sheffield Saleroom for a Head of Department responsible to continue the development of our highly successful, well established Jewellery, Watches and Silver department.

Key Skills & Duties

  • Experience valuing fine & costume jewellery, vintage & modern watches within an auction environment
  • Consigning for multiple jewellery & silver sales
  • Confidence building relationships with clients & buyers
  • Cataloguing, condition reports & saleroom based on viewing & auction days
  • Highly organised and adaptable with good communication & team working skills
  • FGA, DGA qualified preferred

Candidates must have experience valuing and cataloguing, a proven history of business growth, able to further develop the department with good contacts within your area of expertise.

Attractive salary package commensurate with experience. Flexible working hours considered.

COIN CATALOGUER & VALUER

We currently require additional cataloguing and valuation cover on an part-time basis for our expanding Stamps, Coins, Postcards & Banknotes Auctions;

Flexible hours and days per month can be accommodated for the right candidate, to work around other commitments.

Applicants must have had extensive experience in this specialist field in cataloguing and valuing for open market sale.

SPECIALIST TOY VALUER

Due to continued expansion of our toy department we currently require an additional Valuation & Cataloguing Assistant on a part-time basis (approximately 2 to 3 days per week to start) to support our Head of Department.

Essential requirements:

  1. An in depth working knowledge of one or more of the following catagories:
    • Diecast Toys - Old and New
    • Model Railway - All Gauges
    • Tinplate toys
    • Modern Collectables including Action Figures/Retro Gaming/Star Wars
    • Dolls and Teddy Bears
    • Childhood Memorabilia and Collectables
  2. Experience of working to tight deadlines
  3. Ability to communicate at all levels
  4. Ability to work to own initiative as well as part of a team

Desirable requirements:

  1. Experience in research and preparing catalogue descriptions for open market sale
  2. Access to and an insight into the current market for the above categories
  3. Full clean driving license
  4. Computer literate

Full detailed training given to right candidate in a dynamic and busy Auction environment
