1.      A Rare Frederick Skinner's Patent Side Mount Archimedian Reel, the 2 3/16inch (5.3cms) brass drum, pierced and stamped, "Fredk. Skinner's Archimedia Reel, Sheffield, No.1426, Registered April 25 1848", fitted with a turned ivory handle, the iron frame with steel brake plate with knurled brass adjuster, cupped foot. 8.6cms (3 3/8inch) long.

* This reel, produced by Frederick Skinner, Hall Carr Place, Sheffield, is considered the first patented fly fishing reel and the prototype of modern fly reels. 6000-7000

8/3/1873 played for England in their second ever international match, as they defeated Scotland 4-2, and in doing so he and Charles, who had played in the previous game, became the first brothers to be capped by their country.

He played in around 40 games for Sheffield F.C.

In 1878 he joined Sheffield Albion and in January 1879 played in the first international game not played against Scotland.

Later solicitor (defended notorious murderer Charles Peace at the Police Court proceedings which took place in the corridor of the Sheffield Police Station, after Peace had been injured in his attempt to escape from a train.) 800-1200
