*Lord Simon (Sir Ernest Emil Darwin Simon 1879-1960) was a British industrialist, politician and public servant. Serving as Lord Mayor of Manchester from 1921-1922 and was a member of parliament between 1923 and 1931. He later went on to become the Chairman of the BBC Board of Governors. He died in 1960.
