Wheldon from York was married to G.Wheldon and was killed in action on 28th September 1918, aged 30, around Baghdad. He is remembered at the Baghdad, North Gate Cemetery.

*Records indicate Benjamin Henry Jones joined The Royal Indian Marine in 1891, making Lieutenant in 1896, Commander in 1907 and Captain in 1918, when taking up the post of Deputy Director of RIMS. He was gazzetted CBE in June 1919 and retired in 1920.

*Records also indicate SS Canning was used as a troop transport to South Africa 1899/1900
