347. Ox-Tail Dao Decorative Chinese Broadsword, Manufactured by Wilkinson Sword, double fullered steel tapered blade with Dragon etchings, shagreen type wired grip and sword knot, plus soft leather sword bag.
The Vender had supplied the following information;
Limited edition of 100 Made by Wilkinson Sword - Royal Armourer Finest sword steel, plated with chrome. Shark skin handle wound with gold thread. 24carat gold plated pommel and guard. Imperial dragon chasing a pearl etched into both sides By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen on one side and Wilkinson Sword serial Number (every sword ever made by them was logged in the Wilkinson Sword records) on the other. Wilkinson Sword leather sword bag with interior chamois leather bag. During the cultural revolution in China almost all imperial weapons were destroyed. One of the very few remaining Imperial broadswords, possibly the only one in Britain, is in the Royal Armory in Windsor Castle. This sword is a careful copy of that sword, made with the express permission of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

471. WWII R.A.F Distinguished Flying Medal (DFM) Medal Group, with log book, photographs, uniform and ephemera. Medal Group consists of DFM, 1939/1945 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, Defence Medal and Victory Medal, DFM awarded to Pilot Officer L.C. Jewsbury (1130787), who won the award as a Flight Sergeant Air Gunner flying in a Halifax bomber and serving in Bomber Command. The citation stated "This airman has invariably exhibited the greatest keenness and enthusiasm for operations. During an air attack on Mainz the aircraft in which he was flying as Air Gunner was illuminated by search lights for several minutes and on another occasion was forced to dive from 15,000 to 3,000 feet. On one raid on Turin one engine became unserviceable before reaching the target, nevertheless the sortie was completed. Despite such harassing incidents F/S Jewsbury has continued to operate with coolness and composure and has always had a bracing effect on the rest of the crew. Also included is an Air Gunners flying log book with handwritten details of operational sorties, a collection of contemporary photographs, maps with annotations, uniform jacket, insignia and ephemera. £4500-5500
